The question that matters

Not "are we backed up", but "how long would it take to get working again, and how much would we lose". Those two numbers, recovery time and recovery point, are the whole conversation. Most businesses have never been told theirs.

What we put in place

• Veeam-based backup covering servers, endpoints and Microsoft 365 data.
• Off-site copies, because a backup in the same building as the original is an inventory, not a safeguard.
• Immutable or isolated copies where the risk warrants it, so ransomware cannot encrypt your backups along with everything else.
• Monitored jobs, so a failure raises an alert rather than being discovered months later.
• Documented recovery steps that someone other than the person who built it can follow.
• Restore testing, with results you get to see.

Microsoft 365 is not backed up by Microsoft

This surprises people reasonably often. Microsoft guarantees the service, not your data against deletion, a compromised account, or a retention policy nobody meant to apply. Backing up Microsoft 365 separately is a genuine requirement, not an upsell.

Ransomware

Modern ransomware looks for backups first, and it is patient about it. Isolated copies are what turns a business-ending event into an expensive, annoying week. This is the specific reason we care about how backups are stored rather than only whether they run.

Testing, honestly

We restore, on a schedule, and report what happened including how long it took. If a recovery target is not achievable with your current setup, you will hear that from us with a costed option rather than a reassuring silence.
